Dr Jutta  Reinhard-Rupp

Head Global Health Institute, Merck

Dr. Reinhard-Rupp is head of the Merck Global Health Institute,  Switzerland, that is part of the Corporate Affairs organization at Merck. She drives the strategy of the institute and sits on the front line in dialogue with key stakeholders within the Global Health Community. Her focus is the discovery and development of innovative healthcare solutions including drugs, diagnostics and devices for most vulnerable populations.  Dr. Reinhard-Rupp has over 15 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and serves as scientific advisor at various boards, including CouNTDown, a UK-based multidisciplinary research programme to control and eliminate the most common NTDs, and EDCTP, the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership. She also co-chairs the Merck Bioethics Advisory Panel and is a visiting professor and Virtual Global Biomedical Faculty member at the African Institute of Biomedical Science and Technology (AiBST) in Zimbabwe.  

Dr. Reinhard-Rupp studied Biology in Mainz and Tübingen and received her PhD at the Max-Planck Institute in Tübingen.
